Mr. R.R.Baskaran is the Managing Director of Nerkkalanjiam Collective Farming Farmer Producer’s Company Limited in Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu. His interest is making agriculture ecological and poison free in a sustainable way.
Mr. Baskaran says there is an opinion that agriculture should be given industrial status and its products can be made in factories. But the perishable nature, a short duration of life/ expiry time is not viable in industrial production. So in order to avoid losses different preservatives are used. So industrial investments, scientific processing, the legal support for such products makes them globally unequal. Sale of unfit products are not possible in some countries and easy in developing countries. So in developing countries demand and marketing of products have inherent problems.
