's forums help build a strong community by fostering discussion and sharing information. Messages posted by community members are solely the opinion and responsibility of the person posting the message. All users posting to the forums must adhere to this Forum Posting Policy.

- Don't post misleading messages

If we receive complaint about fraudulent/misleading posts, the forum moderators will remove the posts and/or ban the user. The moderators will also (as far as possible) pro actively edit/delete/un-approve any message which in their opinion may cause difficulty for people. The decision of the forum moderators will be final.

- Don't enter into business dealings without proper verification

The threads and messages posted in this forum are not verified. It is impossible to do meaningful verification in a large online community. You must exercise great caution when responding to messages for any business dealing. Here are some guidelines you can follow:
  • keep all the initial correspondence via the forum or via email or private messages. It is better to have your discussion recorded in some place for later reference than to keep it only verbal.
  • check the member's other posts on the forum. See whether he is simply posting messages or whether he is also participating in other discussions. Someone who has posted many messages and participated in discussions is more trustworthy.
  • Post many follow up questions and see whether the person is responding back to you patiently.
  • Independently do other online and offline verification before entering into any business dealing. is not liable for any losses you may incur by dealing with someone who has posted messages in this forum. You should be very careful. Please do not jump into any business deal just by seeing a phone number in a message. There are so many unpredictable things that can go wrong in agriculture, so be realistic and error on the side of caution when evaluating any business opportunity in this sector.

- Don't make non-constructive posts

Below are examples of prohibited non-constructive posts. All the below type of posts will be removed by the moderators without any notice. So please don't waste your time doing all this.

  • Spam - repetitive posting of the same topic or text or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users. The solicitation or advertisement of content, goods, services, or information not found or published on is considered "spam" and not allowed anywhere in our forums.
  • Bumping - posting on threads in order to keep them near the top of the forum list. Commenting on obsolete or old topics with the intent to bump them into a discussion is also prohibited.
  • Hijacking - Try to keep all replies to a thread on the topic at hand. Posting's which are intentionally off-topic or try to sway the discussion completely or partially off-topic is generally considered rude.
  • Advertising - prohibits the posting of advertising links, images or content for the purpose of self-promotion outside of the "Advertising & and Promotion" forum. Hijacking or creating a new thread for the purpose of solicitation or advertising of content or any posts which could be interpreted as a solicitation, including the promotion of content published on, are prohibited outside of their relevant forums. If we notice any member just posting messages to promote/advertise their business/website their posts will be deleted by moderators.
  • Do not post messages asking people to visit your website and contact you there. This will be treated as advertising and removed by the moderators.
  • Lobbying - continually bringing up the same topic in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in existing threads to get attention.
  • Cross-posting - Posting the same topic or thread in more than one forum is considered cross-posting. As a courtesy to others before beginning a new thread, please look to see if an active thread on that topic has already been established by using the Search feature.
  • "I'm quitting" threads.
  • Signing - posts which contain only the text "/signed" or "+1" to show agreement with the previous post. These are discouraged, as they do not engender constructive discussion.
  • Malicious or Disruptive Code - the use of JavaScript, active or other coding, making repetitive posts, or other actions that interfere with site operations are forbidden. Any malicious code or employment of a robot, spider or other process or device to harvest e-mail addresses or other User information or to monitor the activity on the Forums is also forbidden.
  • Data Mining/Harvesting & Employing Bots - using the forums as a means to acquire private information from other community members through any methods.
  • Threads that make threats or use other combative languages.
  • Threads that single out a user for ridicule.
  • Conspiracy Threads - claims or complaints about or any of its employees acting in collusion with or showing favoritism to a group, author, or community member.

- Search for answers before posting

Chances are if you have a problem or question, you're not the first. Someone may have posted the same question before you and received an answer or staff may have covered the subject in an Announcement. Read through the forums or do a keyword search on your question on the Forum Search Page. This can save you and our community time and effort and add your thoughts to a larger existing discussion.

- Don't post personal information

Personal contact details posted in messages maybe removed/edited by moderators. Do not give out or re-post ANYONE'S personal information such as names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, etc. This applies to your own information and that of other users. Use private messages for posting contact details if required.

- Use the private message/conversation in a responsible way

Private conversation feature is enabled for members to share confidential information with each other. But note (this is important), while personal conversations are not visible publicly or to other members of the forum, except to those people in the conversation, forum and/or server admin are able to access the conversations. For this reason, we do not actually call them "Private" - although they are just as private as on any other forum software or social network. So don't post highly sensitive information anywhere in private messages.

All the guidelines related to post messages in the forum will also apply for private messages. If we notice you are using private messages to send unsolicited mass messages and/or if receive a complaint from members about your messages, we will disable the permission for you to send/receive private messages.

- Don't use abusive or disrespectful behaviour

Disagreements or conflict may arise in the course of a discussion. Please remember to be courteous when disagreeing with others. Debate on differing opinions is appropriate and encouraged. Personal attacks against other users, however, are not allowed.

The following behaviours are examples of what will not be tolerated in the Agriculture forums.
  • Flaming - posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another user.
  • Trolling - posting derogatory or inflammatory comments/threads attempting to bait other users into responding. Accusing someone of being a troll is also a form of trolling.
  • Personal attacks - posts that insult a poster directly. This includes any attacks against forum moderators, representatives, or employees.
This list is non-exhaustive. ANY behaviour that is patently offensive is also forbidden.

- Remember the Golden Rule: Treat others as you want to be treated

Misunderstandings on forums are quite common often due to the difficulty in understanding the implied tone in another user's remarks. In fact, quite often something you may interpret as being harshly worded or rude may just be someone else's form of offering you support. Take extra care to be kind in your comments to other users and never react negatively to comments you perceive as rude or otherwise objectionable. Instead, it's always wiser to either end the discussion, ignore the comment entirely, or in more severe cases report the offence to our moderators by clicking the "Report" button beside the post. Remember: two wrongs don't make a right. Responding to another user's comments in a manner contrary to our posting policy will be viewed by our moderators as equally inappropriate and may result in sanctions against your forum privileges.

- Post advertisement messages only in the "Advertising & Promotion" forum

Posting of promotional material is prohibited except on the "Advertising & Promotion" forum. If you are a business wanting to make an unsolicited post to sell your products /services, then the post must be in the "Advertising & Promotion" forum only. The FOR SALE forum is for only posts from individual growers wanting to sell their produce.

For example, in the WANTED forum, if someone requires a particular product, your reply must be specific to only that product. Simply posting the standard message about all your products and services is not allowed. The moderators will edit/remove those messages without any notice. This is only to ensure this forum remains useful for discussion. If you ask for something specific and the other person doesn't respond to you specifically but instead gives the same general reply you will not find him a trustworthy person to deal with.

Even in "Advertising & Promotion" forum posting more or less the same messages multiple times, displaying the URLs on the title of the messages etc is not permitted. The moderators will edit and remove these posts without any advance notice. This is a discussion forum and not an advertisement website. If you have 100 products to sell do not post a message for each of them one by one. We will remove your posts. Post one or two messages, wait for people to reply and respond back to them. If we find your posts are not getting any replies and you are continuing to post new threads we will remove them.

Contact details posted in advertising related messages will also be removed. If you wish to use this discussion forum to advertise/promote your business please come back to this forum to view responses and interact with other members.

- When people reply to your messages, respond back

If you post a message and there is a reply, you should respond back. Do not ignore their message and continue posting new messages. New discussion threads on the same topic will be removed. It's best to respond to them right on the discussion thread so that others can see you are an active member and this will build up your goodwill. You can reply via a private message if there is personal information. Don't ask the person who responded to come to your website and contact you.

- Don't use proxy posting or account hopping to evade suspension

Posting on behalf of a suspended user is not allowed. Working around a suspension through other people's accounts, the creation of new accounts or use of secondary accounts to continue posting is also prohibited. You are personally responsible for your conduct on the forums. If you create a new account to continue posting after your account has been suspended, any forum and accounts involved can be permanently banned. Forum and site suspensions generally apply to a person, rather than a specific account. Threads designed to announce, appeal or contest a forum or site suspension decision on behalf of a third party will also be removed without notice. If you do not understand why you were suspended or have further questions, you must contact support.

- Don't post disruptive off-topic threads

These forums are for and about agriculture. We do, however, allow non-disruptive off-topic discussion in our forums as fitting with the community of posters who frequent them. Constructive discussion about other sites (comparing and contrasting) is allowed at the discretion of Likewise, any topics (such as politics or religion) that are volatile or disruptive are discouraged and can be removed at our discretion. Please contact a moderator if you have questions about a topic being permitted on the forums.

Using the forums or Private Messages for encouraging, promoting, endorsing, or inciting any kind of legal action, reporting, or boycott endeavor against anyone is strictly prohibited.

- Don't post sensitive or confidential information

This includes any information covered by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Any information about or a third party covered by an NDA that is posted will be removed. Posters of the information may be banned from all Services and may face legal action.

- Do not discuss moderator actions on the forums

If you do not agree with a moderator's decision, you may send a private message to the moderator or community administrator. You may NOT start a thread or post complaining that your post was removed. Nor may you post private correspondence from moderators, such as infraction or warning notices. Questions or comments concerning warnings and suspensions (site or forum) should be conveyed through e-mail or private messaging.

- NEVER: Impersonate another forum user, moderator, community administrator, or employee.

You are prohibited from impersonating anyone, including those named above, on the forum or the site. We have had cases where the same user creates multiple usernames and then promotes his posts. All this is a big waste of time since sooner or later this is found out and all the threads and posts get removed at one go by the forum moderators. It is better to spend time trying to build your trust in the community. If your messages are helpful you will build goodwill and you can benefit from a large network of contacts in this community.

- User-Generated Content
