I am looking for roughly 100 acres of land in Tamilnadu for Jetropha cultivation. Preferred location is Theni or Tirunelvali, I will consider other locations as well if the land is suitably priced.

Jatropha cultivation.

Dear all!

The State Govts are planning to involve the Forest departments and their so called gram vana samithis to make nurseries and engage farm workers under NREGA scheme on the one hand and utilisiation of funds through panchayats depending upon the State Govt's thinking on oil borne tree plantations.

Virtually, the Forest Departments all over the country certainly will never see any contract farming growing successfully.

Thanks, I am still collecting details about Jatropha farming - all I know is this - If you manage to tie up with some big companies like Reliance, then Jatropha farming is a good deal as minimla efforts are required to get this cultivated - more over Jatropha is said to be draught resistant...
