Hello Team,

I know nothing about farming, however some of my family members do know some thing about farms

I have around 15 acres of land which is located about 100 km from hyd. It is not being used for any cultivation.

I appreciate your suggestions /help about what to be planted in this land.

Please find the details of the land :

1. Red soil
2.Got some small stream flowing through the lands.
3. It is around 100 Km from Hyderabad.
4. Max temperature in summer is around 46-47
5. Right now it has got weeds all over it.

What could be the best plantation for 5 or 10 years

I thought about Teak and Eucolyptus plants which can give us yeilds after a period.

can you tell me the details about the investment for the plantations and Returns on the invertments after 5 / 10 years on both the plants i.e. teak and Eucolyptus ?

And also how to sell it in the market ?

I really appreciate your help.

Kranthi reddy.

Dear Ewddy,
Why only that tow crops? You can go for Mango, Cashew, Amla, Silver Oak and many more along with others too. You know multi crops are better then single crop.

Hey Swamy, Thanks for your reply.
I am naive to this :( , cant afford to invest lot on this as of now, but wanted to grow something in these lands with less investment.

Do you have links to read about other plants which can be like plantations ?

Thanks Swamy for the quick reply.

Do you have any idea how much can a Eucolyptus can yeild per acre in 5 years ?
and also Teak per acre ?

Guarding is really a pain in the neck these days, however we can concentrate on it as per its scope.

Regards
Kranthi

Hi

Teak will take at least 20 years to get returns. If you expect returns in 8-10 years means you can go for Gmelina arborea. Some more info about Kumil plantation can be found at:

Dairy

Why dont you set up a dairy if there is water availability and access to road? We are under plans to set up dairy in and around HYD.

Team,Thanks for you help. After reading a lot on this website, I could get the interest of my cousins as well, Now we have a club of 40 acres to be cultivated.

Can you guys help me In deciding to plant :

1. MANGIUM
2.Gmelina (White teak)

I would really appreciate if you can guide me on the following.
Where should we sell the Logs after the final Yield ? DO have sufficient market for these plants/woods ?

2. Can any one tell me the approximate Yeild ( projected profit) at the end of crop and how many years for Yeilding ?

3. Can we have some other plantations in the same field once the tress grow higher? like peppers etc ?

4. Do we have any consulting services of Govt Officers whom we can meet to get the advice ?

5. finally a million dollar question : is this safe ?

I know the questions are lot, but i dont have a clear picture on this. Based on these answers i would go ahead an invest on plantations.

I am from Hyderabad.

cultivation

Dear reddy,

I feel you should go in for good crop like pomagranate or banana in full 15 acres you can make around 20 lacs per year. But it does not come easy. Book a consultant to advise you on the project technicalities , feasibility and also ask him to visit once in 20 to 30 days. Simply cultivating eucalyptus is un interesting.also dont go by casual advises which comes free without responsibility

If you need full services contact
