[Stall Rearing
In this concept small ruminants are kept in shelters. Feeding, watering will be provided in the shelter itself. Shelters can be constructed by using locally available materials such as bamboo etc to cut down the cost . But the entire yard should be fenced in such a way no one can enter into the yards.
Zero grazing
Most of the health problems are arrived only through the extensive grazing of animals. Farmer does't know whether the animals grazed properly or not. You dont have any inventory control on the flock. Moreover due to the developments all over the country, the grazing lands are not available easily. Its a great problem to the farmers to who are rearing animals on extensive grazing.
Silage Feeding
In this modern system all animals will be fed on silage and other fresh fodder crops. 80% of the feed will be supplemented by silage. Remaining fresh feed will be given as lucern, subabul etc. Silage is a system where the fodder crops will be chopped and stored in silos.
