Warangal Climate

Hi there,

I can suggest one crop perfect for you: Acid lime or key lime of Kagzi lime variety. Tissue culture Lemon, (Citrus aurantifolia swingle)
can be planted in 2 acres, and will work well in sandy loamy soil.
It is an easy crop to grow, and requires very less irrigation. Average yield is 25-30 tonns/ha/year and economic yield starts from 2nd year onwards.

Kagzi lime will work well when inctercropped with shallow root vegetables like cowpea, chilly, tomato, brinjal.

Chilly: per acre, you can get up to 3 lakhs per acre on hybrid varieties, when you grow 5000 plants per acre. (output 30 tonns)

Tissue culture Pawal or Tindora will also work in your climate, if you can build a mandvo: yield approximately 20 tone per acre, revenues around 6 lakh per acre. However, these are Gujarat estimates, and market survey would be required to see demand in AP.

Pawal is eaten in South as well...is it easy to grow? It has male female plants- what should be the ratio?
