Dear Rakesh.
It is better to dig a pond in your farm land to store the water. You can dig a pit with the size of (Lengthr X Width X Depth; all units in feet) 20' X 12" X 8' which can store upto a maximum of 54K litres of water. Mulch the pit with pond mulchng paper, which is available in the market. By mulching, you can avoid collapse of the pond walls and water seepage & drainage.
This is sufficient for your expected water storage needs. Costing will be as follows. Please note this are only estimates. Actuals may be different, upon the conditions/prices at your farmland.
1. JCB work to dig the pits approximately: 15 - 18 hours
2. Cost of JCB hire/hour: Rs.700/-
3. Cost of digging with JCB: Rs.11,000 - Rs.13,000
4. Mulching sheet required to cover the pond walls and flooring: 1200 Sq. ft.
5. 1 Kg mulching sheet can cover : 1 Sq. mtr/10 sq. feet space
6. Required quantity for the pond: 120 Kg.
7. Cost of mulching sheet/Sq. fett: Rs.200/- Kg. (it is available from Rs.70/- Kg
to Rs.200/- kg depending upon the gauge and material)
8. Cost of mulching sheet: Rs.24,000/-
9. Misc cost: Rs.2,000/-
10. Pipes & Fittings: Rs.7,000/- approx
Total Cost: 13000 + 24000 + 2000 + 7000 = Rs.44000/- for a tank which can hold 54000 liters. Your effective cost per liter is 82 paise.
