Hello!

Wild boars are quite a menace in our land. They are causing large scale damages to our crops and plantations. We don't have a fool proof fencing. Any ideas for how we can keep them at abeyance?

Fenzgard provides fencing solutions for the farming, wildlife and security sectors. The energizers imported from Germany are safety certified. Horticulture operations with a Fenzgard fence can sustain inter-cropping, which helps to recover the fence cost early. This is a win-win situation for both the farmer and the funding banks.

Electric fence wires are pre-tensioned, employing load bearing posts at bends and change of contour, which will vary from site to site and so cannot be quoted on a cost per meter basis. Each fence has to be designed site and species specific after survey.

Innovative techniques for control of powerful animals, safety features and maintenance-free operation make Fenzgard solutions distinct.

We offer a 10 year warranty on fence hardware and 3 years on the electronics.

Dear Rakesh,
Few farmers have tried sprinkling fermented cow urine+ cowdung around the place of entry, also try to put gulal or any fluorescent colour on rocks.

If there is aproachable animal zoo around you can collect faeces of big cats and spread them at entry points

Thanks

wild boar

Hi !
Really the problem with wild boar is a big menace. Initially 2 boar one male and other female come together into the field. After one year , after damaging almost all the crop from within the farm they leave the place out in army like group , in thousands. Fecundity is more with boar.

Once I came across a real incident in 1992. To arrest entry of wild boar into sugarcane field, the farmer installed a fencing of metal wire around his sugarcane field. Every day when he left the field he used to connect it directly to electric line in main board. Next day he would find 1 or 2 wild boar dead near the wire. He was happy that not only he successfully prevented wild boar from gaining entry into his sugarcane field but he could taste flesh of boar and share it with his fellow farmers.

One day I saw him in the court complex looking much disturbed . I asked him why standing in court complex, he replied " some body from neighborhood died of electric shock when crossed fencing during night". So this option ws dropped right then.

Even we can not kill wild boar due to strict forest law..

Only amenable option for farmer is to have cheap and best viable and live fencing of biological origin-wire fencing around the field and sow seeds of thoodhuvalai plants which grow bush like ..with heavy hook like thorns intertwined ..preventing any thing from gaining entry inside the field...

It prevents wild boar effectively and also the leaves are marketed as medicinal product as found used in medical treatment to cure many ailments in human being..

Biological Solution for wild boar problem

We had wild boar issues damaging our maize crop and we prevented the problem using this approach. Buy pig intestine oil (street pigs ok) from pig rearing people. Buy a jute twine, if not available buy a coconut twine. Soak the twine in pig oil and tie the twine around the field that you would like to protect. Wild boars are repellant to the smell of pig oil and will walk away from the field.
