You would also get to hear to the experiences of successful farmers using these techniques for some time now.

Salient features of Natural Farming are:

  • Zero budget- near zero input costs which are recoverable.
  • Increase in fertility of the soil year after year the Natural Way...
  • A single desi (nati) cow is helpful in cultivating 30 acres of land. (It is indeed the Gomatha!)
  • Water requirement is 20% of chemical/organic farming. Hence the requirement of power is minimal too :).
  • Yield and Quality of produce is EXCELLENT (higher than chemical/organic farming) with better shelf life and hence fetches better price.
  • Labour costs too are less as compared to chemical/organic farming methods.
  • It is very scientific and replicates the forest ecosystem!
  • Spiritual way of farming and is based on our great age-old and time tested vedic principles
Please...please...please...don't letgo of this opportunity!
Participate and benefit from the noble movement that Shri Palekarji has taken up!

Zero Budget Natural Farming by Shri Subhash Palekar

Why the fee is high this time: Not sure. Yes, I too felt it is high. The difference this time over the others is that this is a train-the-trainer workshop and is being co-ordinated by a couple of NGO's. I am sure it is on a cost recovery basis only.
Generally, the other organizers seek sponsorships so the burden on farmers is minimal.

Kind regards,
'ramsai'

It is a pity that my requests (of not deleting the contact nos.) have not been heeded to.
Afterall, everything is not business at the end of the day!

Will have to search for other forums or probably start another forum so it will be more sensible...

Please suggest other fora where this could be hosted...

Best,
'ramsai'

Contact info being deleted

Dear Farmnest Moderator,

Thanks a lot for posting the workshop announcement on your forum. Greatly appreciate the support.

The point (here with this forum) is not that of paying whatever and becoming a business memeber (to be able to post with contact info...). I could have paid but the posting would then appear under the name of a 'business member' and that is what I did not want to appear as.
The announcement has been done with a service motive with out any business connotation which is unfortunately not being appreciated and supported here despite my explaining it several times...

Hope to be more active at farmnest henceforth.

Thanks again.

Best,
'ramsai'

Convert from checmical to Natural farming. This is the need of the Hour.

Hi Gunda,

Feel sorry for your ignorance.
See today's The Hindu's (back page, Bangalore; google for the page"Mango growers in doldrums as yield plunges " ) . How mango farmers in Ratnagiri are on the verge of a disaster/suicide why? Very less mango production this year in that area. So what ? but they have to clear lakhs of rupees debt taken for chemical pesticides/fertilizers etc.

If they has followed Sri Palekar's method where he recommends atleast 5 varieties of plants in a farm(symbiotic Inter cropping), might be they have better chances of avoiding this situation.

Successful farmers will be sharing their experiences in the training.

There are many real life stories on people who benefitted from this Natural farming. Here is one just google for

"The Hindu : Karnataka News : Natural farming proves profitable"

If you are serious about this method, meet Mango farmer Mahaveer Jain in the above article)

Regards,
Seshu

PS : Sri Palekar's Zero budget Natural farming concept is nothing new its what our ancestors followed.Tried & tested for 1000's of years.

Just to understand how important it is to do Zero Budget Natural Farming watch this film "Nero's Guests" (a documentary by Deepa Bhatia)

Google for "p sainath Nero's Guests" watch the documentary film in youtube.

--------------------------
ABOUT THE FILM: Nearly two lakh farmers have committed suicide in
India over the last 10 years. But the mainstream media hardly reflects
this. Nero´s Guests is a story about India?s agrarian crisis and the
growing inequality seen through the work of the Rural Affairs Editor
of Hindu newspaper, P Sainath. Through sustained coverage of the farm
crisis, Sainath and his colleagues created the national agenda,
compelling a government in denial to take notice and act. Through his
writings and lectures, Sainath makes us confront the India we don?t
want to see, and provokes us to think about who ?Nero?s Guests? are in
today?s world.

ABOUT P SAINATH:The Ramon Magsaysay award-winning development and
rural reporter, Palagummi Sainath, is India's foremost chronicler of
the impact of globalization on the country's rural populations.
Described by the Nobel Prize-winner, Amartya Sen as "one of the
world's greatest experts on famine and hunger," P. Sainath has worked
tirelessly to expose the devastation inflicted on rural farmers and
the broader population by the so-called economic reforms. He is author
of the best seller, "Everybody Loves a Good Drought: Stories from
India's Poorest Districts", a book credited with significant impact on
drought management, medical and development programs in rural India.
He is currently working as the rural affairs editor of The Hindu.

ABOUT Deepa Bhatia
Deepa Bhatia is a Film Editor, based in Mumbai. She has worked with
acclaimed directors like Govind Nihalani (Dev, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa,
Deham) & Jahnu Barua (Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Mara, Har Pal). She
recently edited ?My Name is Khan? directed by Karan Johar. Her other
popular work as editor includes Rock On & Taare Zameen Par. Deepa has
also been involved in research on several documentaries & films.

there are more blogs, news items, talks, books, but there is no field level results. if these methods were true, the whole country and the world should have changed to this method.
perhaps, many may not know that subhash palekar is practising 100% chemical farming in his own field near akola in vidharbha. the talker has to first do it. let his work speak. let him not do the talking.
