what to plant in 1 acre land

Dears,

I'm new to this forum & I'm from Tiruvarur district.

I would like to know what can be planted in 1 acre of land.
right now the land is grown with "karuvai kaadu" and I don't know how to make the land more profitable.
This plantation needs to be maintenance free as I'm currently in abroad and only my parent's/relatives can spare visiting the place once in a week.

I heard the local agri department can help finding out what suits best for the soil after conducting soil test.

Please let me know from where to start.

You are absolutely right sir, initially a soil test needs to be conducted and based on the results you can proceed with the crop. The agriculture or horticulture officer will help you get the right crop.

Dear Friend,

You can do many things in one acre and infact you will forget about going back to Gulf if you put up a green house in your farm.

Check with your local KVK during your next visit to India about type and variety of veg/fruit in demand in your area by visiting the wholesale market.

One acre Green house will provide you enough money to be happy.
