I have recently purchased an acre of land on the Western Ghats and would like to do some kind of Organic farming there. The land is at an elevation of about 800m above msl and has cool climate except in peak summer months. It experiences heavy rainfall during monsoons and has good water supply throughout the year. I'm looking for some ideas on what to cultivate that will start giving returns in the next 2-3 years. The other thing is that I wont be staying at the place and wil be visiting only once in 2-3 months. Can anyone give me some ideas on what to plant that is feasible for small areas like one acre? Ginger, Turmeic, Cardamom, Lychee? Orange? Flowers?
