Farmer friends involved in timber plantations please inform if this is highly profitable or just breakeven venture.

When the cost of timber itself is Rs.3/- to Rs.4/- per kg how one can earn anything. Now a days cost of transportation itself is 2 -3 rupees depending opon distance.

Experienced persons please provide statistcs

you given very fantastic information of timber & its rates i.e one kg timber is Rs 3-4/-yes you are correct that propious juliflora (thorny shrubery tree).it can be used for fire timber or wood.that thorny wood rate is Rs 3-4/-You the valuable timber trees like teak,Neem,padak,redsanders,gmelina arborea,melia dubia(hill neem) and acasia mangium .these timbers are used for making frames ,doors,furniture and interior decoration.Kindly give rates of these timbers.
