First of all decide what you want from your project ?

Long term benefits or short term benefits or both ?

What is the time period you are looking at ?

What is the rainfall in your area or can you irrigate the plantation ? What is the soil type ?

Who is the buyer of the end products ? Is it easily marketable or you need to sell in a buyer's market ? Is some one offering buyback ?

You must consider all of the above before you decide on the species etc., The question of species to be planted will come in to picture only after you answer the above questions for your self.

If you jump in with out considering the above, you will be disappointed in more than one way : time and effort lost, opportunity costs, interest on investment, dead investment etc., You may also be saddled with unsalable produce which you may have to dispose off at a through-away price.

Teak

The timber tree plantations always better than other kind if cultivation like cotton, cereals. But now a days the farmers are well awareness about tree/ timber plantations than consultant. So you won't worry about yield & marketing. At any cost the timber will gives somewhat income not lose.In the universe every tree cultivation will gives some kind of income & comfort to the farmers. No farmer was affected by tree plantations and nobody was commit suicide.
