Teak Cultivation in Large scale

Hi,

We have 100 acres of agricultural land. We are planning to start Teak plantation.
Is it possible to do this in such large scale? Is it a wise idea?
Also, which variety of Teak gives us the maximum profit? I heard Australian Teak is the most profitable teak variety. Is it true?
How many plants can we plant in one acre?
How many years it would take to mature and what amount of profit (removing costs) can we expect from each tree?
Can we also do Vermicompost in the same land in all 100 acres? Is it feasible?
What other alternative high yielding crops can be cultivated along with the teak?

Please guide us. Thank you very much.

The acacia manjium ( Australian teak) is not familiar in Asian countries. In Asian countries (tectno grandis) teak is the king of Timber in India also.
So teak timber utilisation is increase day by day in India for building construction and furnitures.
In earlier days the teak saplings propagated by stump culture (that also silviculture)
The stump culture teak plants are to be matured on completion of minimum 25 years and above. And also the yield will be maximum 15 cubic fleets per tree. One more major draw back in stump culture teak logs contains the heart wood will be maximum 30% .The heart wood is the deciding factor of the price fixing.
Now a days the tissue culture teak saplings are familiar with much more salient features like fast growth, uniform growth, the heart wood portion will be 70% of the logs. The yield pattern of tissue culture teak will be minimum 20 to 30 cubic feet on completion of fifteen years and above. The red soil is very suitable for tissue culture teak cultivation under irrigation.
