ix)No religious taboo against goat slaughter and meat consumption prevalent in the country.

x)Slaughter and dressing operation and meat disposal can be carried without much environmental problems.

xi)The goat meat is more lean (low cholesterol) and relatively good for people who prefer low energy diet especially in summer and sometimes goat meat (chevon) is preferred over mutton because of its "chewability"

xii) Goat milk is easy to digest than cow milk because of small fat globules and is naturally homogenized. Goat milk is said to play a role in improving appetite and digestive efficiency. Goat milk is non allergic as compared to cow milk and it has anti-fungal and anti bacterial properties and can be used for treating urogenital diseases of fungal origin.

xiii) Goats are 2.5 times more economical than sheep on free range grazing under semi arid conditions.

xiv)Goat creates employment to the rural poor besides effectively utilizing unpaid family labor. There is ample scope for establishing cottage industries based on goat meat and milk products and value addition to skin and fiber.

xv) Goat is termed as walking refrigerator for the storage of milk and can be milked number of times in a day.

Coastal districts are...a major concern for this business....until or unless ur SHEDS are Fully Covered to protect the herd from cold air hiting the herd during the rainy season ...otherways its not a problem....if u can get a good covered protection and proper ventilation in the rainy season...then its a worth....

I am doing it in the Coastal region and my far is less then 100 meters away off the SEA SHORE...it would be nice if u can say where do u ...plan to or which region u at.
I had washed my hands off with 160 goats dying only in the month of July..as there was HEAVY RAINS in the shore Area.

BUt we have found a remedy to this. U can mail me at ashypeshy @ gmail . com for further talks.

hi, I am planning to start a goat farm in the high range area in Idduki District of Kerala. I am planning to start a goat farm with atleast 50 -100 goats, Thats basically on a small scale and planning to do the same on a large scale once i see it going profitable.

I wantd the prject reports that you guys have been talking about.

First of all I would like to thank you, I’m very interested about goat forming but don’t know the process about the same. Please tell me the full details about the investment in terms of cash, land, full time resources to work for goats, how many male & female goats, where I can get exotic breed of goats, how much each goat cost .. etc at initial stage.
