dear sir im planning to set up dairy farm with 20 cows in my village. I want to know why dairy farming is risky because I have reading lots of negatives about this business. my farm will be wel managed commercial farm. I want to get atleast rs 25000 to 30000 per month as net profit during my first year. so I want to know is it worth to start with 20 cows. and also I want to sell entire milk to co operativ society which is also 3km away from my land. thank you.

20 Cow farm is commercially viable. In dairy, 70 % cost is feed management, therefore, check your sources of feed for the cows. Also in terms of marketing, it will be good if you have direct buyers linkages instead of cooperatives otherwise coop. is fine but there will be low realization as compared to direct buyers.
Dairy Farming requires continuous efforts on daily basis, so check your labour management also.
By keeping all these things, you can get commercially viable dairy farm.
