Dear friends we need good quantity of cultivated Andrographis paniculata herb(Kalmeg, Siriyanangai, nelavemu, nelabevu, nilavembu). It will grow well in the states of Tamil nadu, Andhrapradesh, Orissa etc. It requires rainy season and hot climate. The herb is grown using seeds. 100 -120 day crop is good for medicinal use. More than 60 % leaf should be there in the dried raw material. The herb should be harvested at the time of flower initiation. Better price can be obtained for a crop with higher andrographolide content.It can be cultivated as intercrop in mango and coconut garden also.
