Scientific cultivation training for watermelon-chennai

Dear Watermelon farmers ,

It is proposed to conduct a training program for watermelon growers in chennai during 3rd week of December 2012.
The training program is scheduled for 2 days-
First day forenoon 10.00 to 1.00 P.M - class room lecture
First day afternoon 3.00 to 6.00 P.M - Farmers discussion, clarification of doubts about varieties of watermelon, cultivation packages , source of high yielding hybrid watermelon varieties and market linkages etc

Second day - field visit - Trainee farmers will be taken to the real field of successful watermelon farmers where seeing cultivation , learning , interaction with successful watermelon farmers etc. Time morning 8.00 A.M to evening 5.00 P.M

The training will be conducted by an experienced technocrat on watermelon in a thoroughly scientific way..

The training date - 15 th & 16 th December 2012 -saturday and sunday

Dear Ashwini ,

The place of Training is chennai in the premise of SOME FOUNDATION/ some place to suit the farmers convenience , which will be decided based on the enquiries received from the farmers from different places , not later than 10th december 2012.

Lecture by Experienced Technocrats( Retired govt officers of Agriculture department and expert watermelon farmers

Since this training is proposed to be conducted by some foundation which dedicates it service to farming community , donation will be collected in lieu of fees and farmers will be in liberty to pay whatever they wish to pay ...

The boarding and lodging is the responsibility of the farmers who come to attend the training program..

Cultivation training on watermelon-information

Dear all watermelon farmers !
Greetings! You can register your name for watermelon training from 8th December 2012, saturday onwards and registration closes an hour before commencement of Training programe on 15 th December 2012 saturday morning at 10.00 A.M mainly in the interest of farmers who may happen to know about this training program in the last minutes and serving the purpose of this training program.

Regarding the lecture , it will be delivered both in Tamil and English ..

9. Pinching in watermelon to increase size and quality of fruits

10.Problems in marketing watermelon

11.Discussion on various market available for watermelon fruits in different Indian cities and locating the right kind of buyers..

12. Discussion on specific issues with different watermelon farmers from different locations..


Since this training is intended to impart complete knowledge on watermelon cultivation to the farmers , you are requested to bring in writing about specific problems in your area pertaining to watermelon cultivation

Note; This training covers topic on both conventional and organic methods of watermelon cultivation..
