Scientific applications to our problems

Drought AND Swine flu seems our main problems this year along with unemployment and poverty. though Drought seems a repeat telecast of a hit TV Serial nearly every year. To solve hese problems how much advancement of Indian science is used. Though we curse sometimes indian scientific community for producing less number of publications in international journals and won very few noble prizes BUT rarely lookfor their contribution to solve these national problems.

Dear Sir,
It is not the invention or discovery but its application and adoptability in the field is material. In India this typically fails due to entire extension machinery lying idle in the Govt Files and Seats.

While the Scientists working in the LAB is important transferring the technology or application to the LAND is what lacks. I trust you can join the ACABC force started by GoI and managed by Manage, Hyd for extension of Agril Tech under entreprenuership model. This only will solve our problems. I also wish media encourages people working in this segment so that more and more people find it Heroic.
