Sandal wood cultivation
Dear sir,
Earlier to cultivate sandal wood fallowing are the steps to be fallowed
1.Grower has to be rigistered or take permission from forest department.
2.While harvesting primerly again permeission required and royalty need to be paid.
3.Improved technology to prevent thives (Electric fensing etc).
4.Thret of higly mechanised thives.
Now policy amendment made for sandal wood cultivation by looking into its demand in international market and due to stringent policys crop almost reached to endangered. so policy amendments are as fallows.
1.No permission required to raise plantation of sandal wood ratherthan Medicinal mission is providing 24/ac as subsidy to encourage.
2. No royalty need to be paid.
3. Just need to inform while harvesting to forest department.
4.with intervention of National medicinal mission board it is looking bring this crop under Insurence as value is high.
