Saffron

Dear Mrs Kavitha,
Here by I want to grow saffron. But as known they are best grown in kashmir due to the climate. So I just want to know If I want to do this in the north bengal region. Whether it is possible or not.

hello Sir
Saffron fares well only at elevations of 2000m above MSL, in cool and dry climate. it is very difficult to cultivate saffron in low elevations and fluctuating temperatures. in west bengal due to its warm humid climate saffron wont grow well.

if i build a suitable house for it then will it be possible to maintain certain temperature and climate within the house to cultivate it.
