Sandalwood & redsanders cultivations

Dear sir,
sandalwood &redsanders are the wild plants/trees and also costly one.The sandalwood is the national asset.Normally&generally we wnt cultivate the sandalwood in private patta lands.that much restrictions levied by the Govt.of india.Due adequte shortage of sandalwood our nation faced much difficulties to run the sandalwood oilmills .Sandalwood tree is a aromatic ,divine and medcinal plants.The demand of the sandalwood increase day by day for regular use like production medicine and allied products.So the Govt of India passed an ordinance and relax the restrictions in the year of 2002 any farmers can plant sandalwood in private patta lands for cultivation only.Now many of the farmers in tamilnadu ,karnataka and andhrapradesh come forward to cultivate the sandalwood in their lands.We also supplied nearly 30000 saplings to our farmers in tamilnadu.And we got order for 50000 saplings for this year.Due to non availiablity of the sufficient rain so that the planting is delayed.The sandalwood is a wild collection and cultivation.So the cultivation period in the wild is minimum 25 years.Now we have convert to field cultivation .So the maturity and cultivation period is minimum 13 years onwards.The entire harvest will be done within 15 years.These are observed by me in the medium of magazines, personal observation in the forest ,physical inspection of mother tree in the forest of Yercaud,Sathiyamangalam,Asanoor and visited somany forest siliviculture nursery in karnataka for the seed treatments .QAnd also visited the Indian institute of Wood science ,Bangalore.

This is Banuprakash from Davangere, Karnataka. I need to know, how may sandal wood or teak sapling's planted in an acre of land...
I also need to know whether I can do this plantation in black cotton soil.
Please guide me with these...

Sandalwood cultivation

The clay and black cotton soil are not suitable for sandalwood cultivation.

Teak Plantation

Mr. Sivakumar,
Thanks for your response.
I would like to know whether we can have Teak Plantation in black cotton soil.
If so, how many sapling's can be planted in an acre of land...

We are having few dimension of teak plantations depeding upon the soil condition.For example we will do 8x8',10x10',12x12' and also 9x6'
