Gymnema sylvestre - Gurmar, it is climber, if you eat just half leaf of this plant, after few minutes if you take sugar , you will not feel the sweet taste of sugar.

Madunashini - cultivation practice

Gymnema cultivation not yet taken large scale, only few people are growing, it needs to be propagated through cuttings. During March, April months seeds also can be collected from forest areas , near villages and it can be used for propagation. Plant can be obtained from some nurseries; the cost per plant will be 5-10 rupee. Since it is a climber, it requires trellis as we made for snake guard and bitter guard. Leaves should be harvested during September - October, after wards it will start flowering. Once flowering started the saponin content will come down.

hello....can i grow this herb in uttarakhand state,,,
my land is in the form of terraced fields with good amount of trees...
the temperature is moderate and water supply is also good...
