Poultry farming

Hello,
I am planning to set up a 5k layers poultry farm , i have some extra space/shed on which i am planning to rear broiler , i just wanted to know can keep both types of birds ( layers and broiler) in same farm but in different shed . i have been told by some farmers that i should not keep both types in same farm , i need the advice ?

Hello Sir
The broiler and layer farms should not be established in close vicinity.
The construction of sheds should be in east west orientation.
The minimum distance of 150 ft. between brooding / growing and laying sector and 50 ft. between same sector should be maintained.

Thanks for your advice , please throw some light on the reason why one should avoid keeping broilers and layers in same farm , what should be the ideal distance between two types
