Dear Friends,

I am a beginner to start Poly-house farming and at present in planning stage, talking to various service providers and looking options to grow either Gerbera or Carnation or Capsicum. Have gathered basic information like prerequisites to setup a poly-house but would like to know few more information as follows considering Poly-house area is 2000 Sq.Meter (0.5 acre), can someone respond on it please.

A) In case of Gerbera or Carnation
1. No. of plants per Sq. Meter
2. No. of flowers per plant per year
3. Avg. price per flower
4. Life of Plant (I heard 3-5 Years)
5. Can we have gerbera and carnation in same poly-house?

B) In case of Capsicum
1. No. of plants per Sq. Meter
2. No. of capsicums per plant per year
3. Avg. price per KG
4. Life of Plant (I heard 9 Months)

Kindly share do's and don't based on your experience and best practices to make it successful.
FYI - Location will be ~90 KM from Pune, Maharashtra.

Thanks.

poly house cultivation

Dear sir,
It is not advisable to have both carnation and Gerbera at same polyhouse.
Spacing of Gerbera=30X30 two rows per bed
Carnation=15X15, 15X20
you calculate the number of plants per meter squre with a farmulae =Area/Spacing everything should be in same units.
yield is concerned Gerbera bear 150 flowers/mt.square/yr
Carnation bear 300 flowers/mt.sq/yr.
Capsicum= spacing is 50X50,50X40,
yield=16000 kg per acare

Many Thanks for prompt response, however, I would appreciate if you can slightly elaborate your response further (considering I am lay man / beginner in this field)
