Growmore Biotech Ltd. is a biotechnology based company located at 41-B, Sipcot Phase-II, HOSUR – 635130. The company is 28 years old and it is promoted by Dr.N.Barathi, a well-known Agri-Biotechnologist who has experience over 40 years in Plant Tissue Culture. It has been set up for the production of disease free plants for hi-tech farming in India and abroad.

Growmore Biotech Ltd exported tissue culture bamboo plants throughout India and also to 23 different countries. Growmore Biotech is one of the first Tissue Culture Lab to get accreditation by the Dept. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India under the National Certification System for Tissue Culture Raised Plants (NCS-TCS).

The technology of plant propagation is developed in-house for many plant species and it is specialized in the propagation of plants by tissue culture and propagating 1,00,000 plants a day. Growmore is propagating 10 different bamboo species through tissue culture such as the Bambusa balcooa variety: Beema, Bambusa tulda, Bambusa nutans, Bambusa polymorpha, Dendrocalamus asper, Dendrocalamus brandisii, Dendrocalamus stocksii, Dendrocalamus membranaceus, Dendrocalamus hamiltonii, Thyrsostachys oliveri.

Beema Bamboo is a proprietary clone developed by Dr. N. Barathi for high yielding. The best Cultivation technology for Beema bamboo under hi-density plantation has been developed by Growmore. Growing such bamboo reduces carbon dioxide and makes the place “Carbon Neutral”. Growmore has started establishing “Oxygen Parks” based on Bamboo. Beema Bamboo is Simple, Cost Effective, and Sustainable Solution to achieve our Prime Minister’s “Net Zero target” in a Few Decades.

Dr.N.Barathi worked for the past 18 years towards domesticating Bamboo into a cultivable crop and archived the highest yield of 40 tons/acre/year (against the national average of less than 1 ton/acre/year) for the benefit of Indian farmers, to reduce Global Warming, to increase multiple industrial uses of Bamboo, ultimately to reduce Import Bill and substitute Fossil Fuels for India. He has introduced 3 types of plant spacing based on the end of bamboo for which it is cultivated and recommends the regular application of fertilizers and irrigation as similar to sugarcane. Bamboo is an ideal crop for an absent landlord and to manage with less agricultural labour as a long-term permanent crop for over 100 years.

Growmore Biotech Ltd promotes bamboo cultivation for industrial applications such as power generation, Coal replacement, bio-ethanol manufacturing, charcoal production, Bio-CNG, Bio-Petrol/Diesel, Bamboo composite wood, Pellets, Briquettes, charcoal, and many more, to replace the feedstock requirement of several million tons.

Bamboo cultivation is less labour intensive, highly profitable, and economically viable with a minimum profit of Rs.1,00,000/acre/year under well-managed conditions such as proper irrigation and fertilizer application. The profit increases to multi folds, if the value addition of bamboo is combined with the production of Biomass pellets, briquettes, lumber, charcoal, electricity, Bio-CNG, Bio-Ethanol, Bio-Petrol/Diesel, etc.,
