Hi sir,
How many acres needed for cultivation, what will be the investment, what will be the returns please send me full details to my email I'd shaunwins@gmail.com
The pandan is a humble ingredient in Asian cooking for ages , but more sparingly used in India .
In Singapore, for instance, makes this delicate green pandan chiffon cake
In Indonesia and Vietnam, tapioca flour replaces regular flour to give a denser honeycombed cakes in jelly green colours.
In Thailand, fish and sticky rice preparations in pandan leaves are very popular.
In Sri Lanka, the pandan can be found in most curries, often with curry leaves .
Innovative value added products from pandan leaf extract are also available in Far East market viz. Liquid room freshener , Gel car freshener . essence etc.
So first decide how are you going to market this unique herb – as fresh herb or as value added product.
If you are planning to sell fresh ratoon ( fresh leaves ) as herb , then 1 acre is ok for start up
Per plant ratoon harvest is 25-20 leaves per plant / per year after 8 months of planting .
For Pandan based branded value added product manufacturing and marketing , 1 ha is enough for start up .
