Is it not something made fresh and used? Do you mean cow's urine and four other substances mixed to make this Panchakaviya?

Panchagavya Usage Guide

yup ! am interested. let me know the price etc. also detailed uses except farm uses.

Panchagavya is an Organic stimulant/Bacterial culture which replaces fertilizers and plant protection chemicals. It gives high yields of agricultural crops. As Panchagavya is manufactured from the available materials in villagers like, Cow dung, Cow’s urine etc., the cost is very low compared to chemical fertilizers. It can be prepared by the villagers themselves.

BENEFITS OF USING PANCHAGAVYA

1. Use of fertilizers and plant protection chemicals can be eliminated. This will be a major cost saving factor.
2. Germination of seeds and vigor are improved, giving more plants in the area sown.
3. Improved tillering of plants.
4. High drought tolerance on plants.
5. More flowers and better setting of flowers. In paddy for example, the Chaff and unfilled grains were much less. In coconut, butter shedding was minimized and there were 100% to 200% more nuts on the bunches
6. So far, Panchagavya has controlled all the diseases in crops (provided regular application).
7. Higher yields of 50% to 200% were obtained.
8. The quality of final produce was improved, in grains well filled heavier grains were got and in fruits on vegetables, more pulp and sweeter fruits were obtained.

PANCHAGAVYA CONCENTRATE and PANCHAGAVYA FOR USE IN CROPS:

After the preparation, Panchagavya Concentrate can be obtained in 21 days. This Concentrate should be diluted with water and used in Agriculture.
Panchagavya for use in agriculture is obtained by adding 30 liters to 50 liters of water to 1 liter of Panchagavya Concentrate of water and used. In cases where pest attack is noticed, the concentration can be increased by adding 1 litter of Concentrate, to 15 litters of water. It can also be made as 3 percent solution and sprayed.

STORAGE / AGE

The Panchagavya Concentrate and Panchagavya can be stored and used for 6 months without its effect deteriorating.
It should be mixed once in a day.
The container should be kept with its mouth closed in a cloth for air circulation.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO BE NOTED IN APPLICATION OF PANCHAKAVIAM.

1. Vessels to be used must be Plastic or Mud or Cement troughs only (no metals). NB: Vessels must be cleaned well and used.
2. The Vessels must be kept in shade. This is very important. Don’t keep it in sun light.
3. The open portion of the vessel must be covered with a wet cloth and should not be left open. Don’t use a solid cover like the lid. The cloth cover promotes aeration which is very essential for the growth of bacteria, micro organisms. If not covered, insects will lay their eggs and worms will develop.
4. The articles inside the vessels should be thoroughly stirred with a stick twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. This will help in the bacteria and micro organisms developing rapidly.
5. It is preferable to use NEEM stick to stir the mixture.
6. The Panchagavya must be well filtered before spraying or use in a sprinkler as it will block holes.
7. The sprayers and other equipment used for spraying etc., must thoroughly cleaned.
8. The best time for spraying Panchagavya is in the morning and evening.

PANCHAGAVYA – WHEN & HOW TO USE IT.

The stages of crop growth at which Panchagavya should be used are:

a. Germination / Sprouting phase.
b. Vegetative / Tillering phase
c. Seed formation phase

Panchagavya can be used by the following methods:

a. Treatment of Seeds, Seedlings
b. As a spray on the leaves.
c. Soil application

TREATMENT OF SEEDS

Seeds can be treated by keeping the seeds immersed in Panchagavya solution from 30 minutes to 9 hours.
a. Paddy seeds can be treated by immersing the seeds in water for 12 hours. After this the seeds can be immersed for 9 hours.
b. Soft seeded varieties like vegetable seeds can be tied in cloth and immersed for 30 minutes.
c. Hard seed varieties like pulses Black Gram etc can be kept immersed for 1 to 4 hours.
d. Ground nut. The ground nut seeds must be placed in a gunny bag and soaked for 6 hours.

POINTS TO BE NOTED:

a. Seeds to be soaked must be placed in a cloth bag or tied in cloth or kept in a gunny for soaking.
b. Care should be taken to gently handle the seeds without the skin peeling.
c. Dry the seeds in shade, not in open sunlight after soaking.
d. Dried Seeds can be used immediately after drying or stored and sown later.

ADVANTAGES OF SEED TREATMENT

Seed treatment will improve germination. Compared to untreated seeds, there will be more plants in an area and gaps will be less.
a. The seedlings from the Panchagavya plot will be very rigorous in growth and dark green in colour.
N B: Plastic or mud vessels, cement trough or a pit with plastic lining must be used for treating the seed. Metal containers should not be used.

TREATMENT OF BANANA SUCKERS
The rhizome ie., the bottom thick portion of the Banana Sucker must be kept immersed for 30 minutes in the Panchagavya solution.

SUGARCANE & TUBERS
The sugarcane sets for planting, other tubers must be soaked for 30 minutes and then planted.

SOAKING IN PANCHAKAVIAM SOLUTION BEFORE PLANTING
In case of crops like Paddy, Chilies, Tomatoes etc, the seeds are sown in Nurseries and are pulled out and planted. The seedling bundles can be kept immersed in Panchagavya solution for 20 minutes and planted. If this is done, the seedlings will establish quickly. They will grow vigorously.

SPARYING PANCHAGAVYA ON PLANT
Panchagavya can be sprayed on the leaves of crops. For the best result, Panchagavya must be sprayed on the plants at the following critical crop growth stages. Panchagavya will be absorbed by the plant and give good results.

a. Vegetative or Trillering phase.
b. Flowering phase
c. Seed / Fruit formation phase.

For annual crops spray as follows:
a. First spraying – 25th day
b. Subsequent sprays – at 25 days interval. 2, 3 or more sprayings according to duration of crops.

Fruit crops –
a. Fruit spraying – month of June.
b. Second spraying – 1 ½ months after 1st spraying ie., middle of August.
c. Third spraying – October
f & d. If flowering is noticed – November / December upto February.

For Lime & Guava

Same as noted down under fruit crops. Spraying can be continued through out the year at 2 months intervals (For Lime and guava alone). The trees will continue to flower and give fruits.

TAMARIND TREE

In a year when all Tamarind tree had no flowers, one spray was given and Panchagavya poured in holes around the tree. The tree is covered with long well filled fruits while the other one near it has no fruits.
More number of sprayings, for example, once in a month will not have any adverse effect. So you can experiment by giving sprayings at shorter intervals (For Tamarind alone).

SOIL APPLICATION:
Panchagavya can be applied to the soil. It will be taken in by the plants and good results will be obtained. Application to the soil can be done by the following methods.

a. Direct application to the soil.
b. Application through irrigation water.

DIRECT APPLICATION:

1. Panchagavya can be poured into the soil after planting fruit, seedlings, coconut etc. and water poured over it. This will help in the speedy establishment of the crop and the plants will exhibit initial vigor in growth.

2. In the case of fruit and trees like Tamarind, Drumstick, Coconut and other trees the following may be done.

a. Imagine a circle 1 to 5 around the tree in the bed formed for irrigation and if it is not irrigated like tamarind on the ground around the tree.
b. Make 4 to 6 holes around the tree trunk, with a crow bar (iron rod will sharpened edge) 1 to 5 away from the trunk.
c. Pour Panchagavya into the holes at 1 to 2 liter per tree. Cover the holes.

This can be done once in three months, in the months of July and October.

For trees like Guava and Lime which will hear throughout the year, soil application can be done in January and April also.

NB: - Along with soil application, spray in should also be done.

APPLICATION THROUGH IRRIGATION WATER:

Panchagavya can be applied to the soil by mixing it will irrigation water.

QUANTITY TO BE USED :
20 TO 40 liter of the Panchagavya can be applied at one time. Application of more Panchagavya will not cause any ill effects.

HOW TO APPLY :
1. Find out the time required for the irrigating your land.
2. Take a plastic vessel of 4 or 5 liters which can be hung over the water channel.
3. Make a small hole at the bottom of the plastic vessels.
4. Pour measured quantity of water into the vessel and find out the time required for all the water to flow out
5. If the hole is small, the required quantity of Panchagavya will not flow out of the vessel during the time taken for irrigation. Then enlarge the hole.
6. If the hole is big and the water flows out quickly, put a cloth or thread into the hole and pull it out at the opposite end. The hole will become smaller.

Adjust the size of the hole so that quantity meant for 1 ac will pass through the hole in the time required for irrigating the plot.
Hang the plastic vessel over the irrigation water. Pour Panchagavya into the vessel and start irrigation.

OPTIMUM USE OF PANCHAGAVYA
It must be realized that no fertilizers need be used when Panchagavya is used. If a crop is to get the maximum benefit from Panchagavya it must Panchagavya must be used in the following ways
1. Seed Treatment or Seedling Treatment
2. Application through irrigation water or in holes around the plant
3. Spraying at 1 ½ intervals.
4. For Bananas tying Panchagavya on the stem of the fruit bunch after removing the flowers.
