Oyster mushroom farming near Delhi NCR

Dear Friends,


Iam growing Oyster mushroom at my home (very small quentity) and
want to move forward to create a small farm (in 12X40 feet area) to grow Oyster.
if this will be sucess then I'll move to a much bigger one at Dehradoon.
before that I want to gather some information.

- what is the status of market for Oyster?
- how and where can I market my produce?
- is there any option for buy back scheme?


I suggest, friends who are in Oyster cultivation or planning to do so,in or around Delhi(NCR),
can we share each other's experience, club with each other for marketing,
clubbing will definatly help instead of marketting single.

Hi Ashok,

Cultivation of this mushroom on commercial basis would be more profitable as compared to white button mushroom as capital costs are low.


The cultivation of this variety of mushroom is very simple and economical in rural areas where raw materials and facilities required are easily available.

You can get market links abroad and export the same. Domestically also there is a lot of demand now a days as it is a protein rich food. Approach hotels, supermarkets, retail stores

Shelf life of mushroom is very short. You need to do tie up with near by restaurants and hotels for getting market for your produce. As you are doing small scale as compared to controlled condition environment, it will be season specific production. You need to plan the volume for a year than tie up with buyers.
