ornamental crops

Hi

Most of the ornamental crops do well commercially, it all depends the purpose you want to use them. Some flowers are used for perfume extraction, some used in gardens for decorations, some for bouquets.

If you are growing them for purpose of resale or cut flower, Anthurium, Gerbera, Gladiolus and Carnations are good as they fetch high price e.g. Gerbera plant is Rs. 25 per plant.

Hybrid variety of lilies and exotics like orchid are also good but have niche market.

i am interested in the sale of exotic cut flowers. I need to understand the pros and cons of the same first and also its commercial viability. Who do you think can guide me on this?
