Organic Fertilizer for Roof garden plants

Dear Sir

collect the kitchen waste per week basis in a basket dig a pit of upti 1.5mts depth.put some fine mud in iy, on that u put some husk, straw leaves etc. then put the wate. on that after 15 days leave eartworms and cover it again with leaves or straw and water after each 2 days.

Is it possible to prepare the manure without using earthworms. Any other way. Please advice.
