it requires hot sunny condition for its vegetative growth and requires chilling winter for fruit set and it should be avoided in where temperature falls below 5oC.There are reports that highest yields are obtained where the rain fall is more than 600 mm it loves more water karwar is heavy rain fall area but soil are such that water is not held because of terrain so you can definitely plan in future horticulture department may support also.
