Hi Friends

I am interested in starting a Nursery at Bangalore. I would ideally like to cultivate medicinal and aromatherapist plants which can be grown easily in Bangalore climate and soil and which would also get me good returns.

Anyone with good knowledge please help me.

Regards
Madhu

MAPs Nursery

Dear Madhu
Its wonderful idea. There is no established nursery in public and private sector that can serve the purpose of most. Little difficult task but can be managed. Try to include maximum plant species .It may take even two years. Several varieties of each species are available. Growing a dozen or two MAPs is not going to serve the purpose.
thanks

Reg. Medicinal and Aromatic plants

Dr.,
I'm interested in the MAPS plantations. I'm a farmer in krishnagiri dist., of Tamil nadu. These are the agro- soil parameters of my field.
1. I have 10 acres of moderately irrigated land, whose soil pH is 9.4. This land has got good sunlight exposure.
2. I have another 10 acres of land which has got good irrigation. The soil pH of this land is approx.. 8.5. This land has good shade. i.e., this has coconut plantations. I want to know whether in this land I can do intercropping with MAPS. If so what are the plants feasible in the above soil- water conditions.
I have heard of lemon grass, palmarosa , citronella and patchouli. Can such plants grow well in my alkaline soil.If not, please suggest me any other alternatives for me like any other medicinal plant. Thanks alot

Regards
