Hey i am looking into no till gardening an I was wondering if I use raise drows with compost and newspaper and organic matter would it be better to remove the first inches of soil and grass or do I just put it on top to plant this year ? Thanks in advance I am new to this and kind of overwhelmed

If you are using compost and if you are doing it to a height more than 2 -3 inches, you need not worry about the weed and grass under it. Chances are that they will disappear. You may still need to weed out a few after a few weeks but they will be very minimal. No till gardening does not mean that it does not require weeding. Weeding is a continous process for most gardeners and farmers and there is little you can do about it. Remove the unwanted plants and weeds from time to time. Its unfortunate that weeds exists but then think of the bright side... weeds exist because the soil is good. So... Happy gardening
