Hello All,
i am planning to start a dairy farm with 25 cows( i might start with even less numbers of animals). right now i have 5 acres of land with borewell in it getting about 3 inches of water in multiple points in the land. but soon i am planning to increase the number of cows and my target would be to reach 100 in a span of 2 years. after that i have not thought about expanding even more. but i need to know how land is required for dairy farming if i have to expand my farm for 100 cows. i know that producing fodder for the animals is also an important thing and if my budget is cramped i might stick to buying fodder outside and not producing in the farm itself. please guide.

dairy farm land requirement

Hello,

As you said I understood that for 25 cows the fodding land is around 3 acres and as the Q said he wants to increase for 100 I have to consider 4 times of land required or less? please clarify...

2) You have given some LXB for the cattle shed and place of the animal but do these animals(cows/B) required to move as they also need some physical excersice.

3) One of experience person told that if we bring the buffalos from UP, Haryana to Andhra pradesh after coming as they can't adjust for the climate reduces the production of milk. I feel it is correct. can you please clarify
