I am Karthik and i have 8 acres of land near Tuticorin.
To give you a perspective of Tuticorin, it gets around 600mm rain per year, it is 10 meters from Sea level and the average climate is around 29 and max will be around 34 -35 during summer.
The property is a Red Soil and has one well and no bore well ( as of now - but if needed i can drill one). Water is available at 20Ft and it can irrigate for 3 hrs a day.
Now - i am looking for long term Timber growing in my farm.
Out of 8 acres - i am planning to plant 7 acres and leave the one for personal use.
This is the split i am looking for
2 Acres of Teak
2 Acres of Casuarina tree ( Savukku maram )
1 Acre of Mala Vembu
1 Acre of Bamboo
1 acre of Rose & Sandal wood
The questions are:
1) Will these trees grow in my farm ?
2) Does it needs lot of water ?
3) where to source saplings good saplings ?
4) Is there any consultancy service that i can avail ?
5) Is there any farmers that i can interact with ?
