2. Stevia - Cost of cultivation for one acre is around Rs 70 to 80 thousand (Cost of the plant in the market is from Rs 2 to 5 per plant and this is the main investment, around 25,000 plants are required for one acre, this is once for five year and the cost of cultivation is likely to be recovered in first year itself - dry leaves production will start from 3 or 4th month onward, in the very first year with good cultivation practice you can get 1200 kg leaves and the present market rate is from Rs 80 to 120 per kg. means in the first year you can get Rs 80 (minimum)X 1200 kg = 96,000. There after you have to maintain the crop for 4 year means cutting the plant every after 2 or 3 month and drying and selling the leaves. 2nd year onward you can get 2000kg of dry leaves every year up to 5 year. For better result the plantation has to be done in rainy season otherwise it can be planted in any season except extreme hot summer and extreme cold.
