Making Herbal Extracts

Hello Friends,
I am making some ayurvedic formulations. For that I need to prepare extracts for some herbs which are taken in large doses. But the problem is that I don't know the way to make effective extracts in solid form. Can someone please advice me as how to make extracts or any weblink where I can get complete know how of the technique.
