I have grown coffee in Jamaica for over 20 years, 8 acres, never lost money but just about break even, have decided to go organic, about to get Ceres cert for EU & north America, Jamaican coffee board are fighting me & will not give me a processing licence although CERES have .
I have questions about intercropping legumes through my coffee, I have planted string beans & kidney beans which are now ready for reaping, should I reap & then dig the pants into the soil or just reap & leave the plant to mu,lch down, also how far apart should I plant the legumes to get the best results??
