Legal aspects of Agricultural Land purchase in Karnataka

I am need of understanding the legal aspects of Agricultural Land purchase
in Karnataka. Firstly let me tell you something about me.

I am from Bihar married to a Karnataka girl. We
belong to General Hindu Community. Both we are IT Professionals and income
is good. Both we are tax payer. I am by birth belongs to agricultural
family and have lot of agricultural land at my native Bihar but not on my
name (All are on my dad’s name). My wife is also from agricultural family
in Karnataka but she is also not holding any agricultural land. Her father
is also not holding any agricultural land currently. About 20 years back
he sold every peace of land.

Now please help me to get answer for few queries I have in my mind.

1. Am I eligible for buying agricultural land? If yes, what is the way?

2. Is my wife is eligible for buying agricultural land? If yes, what
is the way?

3. Is banks are sanctioning/approving loan for buying agricultural
land?

Mr. Advertiser, retd bank official says there is no restriction to buy a land either agricultural or residential what ever it is, only thing is you have to scrutiny the land documents well on touching the land documents of 30 years and the patta should be in the name of present seller of the land with tax updated sites. Hence, advised to get legal opinion from the reputed advocate, opinion should reflect
