Intercropping advice for melia dubia

Hello Sir,

Arecanut as an intercrop in melia dubia is not advisable. Melia dubia has the unique feature of growing to 40 feet within two years from planting and can be mechanically pruned and harvested.

intercrop cultivation in melia dubia

Kindly aviod the intercrop cultivation in melia dubia.because the stems of melia dubia is very softy in intial stage. So the labouers will spoil the melia dubia while doing the intercrop cultivation like arecanut .After two or three years we can go for some fodder crop like co-3 &4 for sheep farming .

Thankyou.

Intercrop like banana can be done along with melia dubia. But under the shade of a grown tree, the results are quite poor.
