I need advice from an expert in banana's.
My banana plantation is nearing harvest with the fingers need to grow for another 40 days.
This is my first stint at banana's and my Agri neighbours are advising me to cut out the red bulb [flower] at the end of each bunch for the fruit to get larger in size.
Is this a standard practice or an unconvential method plz advise.
If it need to be chopped how far from the base and what tool to be used for the safety of my very hard earned crop.
thxs ppl.

Advice for Banana

I am neither an expert nor a farmer but I know for about 50 years (from my father's banana trees) that the flower must be cut for the fruits to grow bigger in size. Your neighours are right. I am surprised you have gone this far. Please ask the agri officer in your area for confirmatiion w/o delay.

banana cultivation

Kindly remove flower cone immediately with the assistance of the neighbour plantain grower.its main custom in the banana cultivation.Normally the banana farmers will remove flower cone after observing the bunch of fruits in fruit bunch and they have some better experience about banana variety.According to the variety they will leave fruit finger of the banana .For example Elakki they will remove the flower cone some forty bunchs of fruits steps.

thank you
