Ideas regarding how technology can be implemented in agriculture

Hi.I am a student doing B.Tech(Agricultural Information Technology).
Can someone suggest ideas how or in which areas of agriculture softwares can be developed or are essential to be developed?
Lets try making headway in our agriculture so pls respond to my query..

Hi,

In many ways you can do like,

1) Monitering your farms using laser beam, or CCTV kind of things for Animals
2) Switch On/Off using internet (But this can be done using Mobile itself)
3) Automate the water flow of you field like if your field get enough water supply then motor should automatically switched on and viceversa.
4) Easy mobile app for the farmers to moniter theire farms thru smartphones.
5) Cost calculator like, What would be the total cost spent for 1 acer of sugarcane (based on the climatic conditions, watter supply, and seeds) and what would be the total outcome you get. Similarly for different crops

i have two more

1. Once farmer see the pests or insects in his field that damaging the crop, through an application he should be able to know
what kind of pest it is, remedies to avoid, pesticides (both inorganic and organic) to use, precaustions to take..

2. Through the software he should be able to estimate the investment and returns (if all the entities like climatic conditions,water source,seeds are available and favoring ) before investing.Software should cover details of all the major crops that produce in india.
