Dear Sir

Vanilla flourises well in partial shade that cuts out about 50% sunlight. Since it is a climbing vine, it requires support for growing. Dead wood posts, few species of Erythrina, Plumeria alba and Glyricida are suitable standards for trailing vines, full length bean is attained in six weeks time which in turn takes 6 months to reach full maturity. Under good management , Vanilla yields about 100 gms cured beans per plant.

The type of soil in your area is mostly clay and not suitable for vanilla. Kindly know the pros and cons of the plant and its micro climate that is required for cultivating Vanilla. The flowers have to be manually assisted in pollination. It cannot tolerate heavy sunlight or frost. the soil at the base of the creeper should be well mulched and porous so that water does not stagnate.

Go visit a farm and study the plant before you blindly get yourself involved in this kind of venture.
