Hi everybody..
i live in cyprus and ı have planted 5 donums of land with picual olive trees.. ı hade researched and found out that ıt ıs possıble got 30 % of olive oil from the olive.. but ı know someone who has picked his olives and only got 12% o,l from them..
ı would like to know what reason could be for this???

try to use natural methods of farming for olive trees

The lesser oil yield may be due to poor irrigation, lack of manuring, unusual swings in the weather, pest or disease attack. Focus on good manuring and irrigation practices and you will surely get a good oil yield from your olives. You can use sheep or goat manure if cowdung manure is not available. Even well rotted poultry manure will work wonders for your olive trees. Avoid using chemical manures like DAP and urea. They will not do your trees much good in the long run.

Is rice or wheat grown in Cyprus? If it is then try to get some rice husk or wheat husk. Reduce it to ash and use the ash as manure. It will work wonders for your olive trees. I can suggest many more things but for that I would have to come to Cyprus! Good luck.
