Growing pulses and ragi near Hosur

We are trying to grow pulses (tur dal -- the tree variety, urad dal, moong dal, channa dal, cow peas, horse gram, and ragi on our farmland near Hosur. We would really welcome advice on where to get good seeds and when to plant and harvest them. It is dry land, with no means of irrigation at present. Also, is there any variety of rice which can be grown without irrigation and without transplantation? We will not be using any chemical fertilizers or pesticides, but hope to improve the soil gradually with manure and nitrogen-fixing crops.
