Green manure

As I haven't found topic on this issue, I decided to create such. As I have read Green-manure crops | IEASSA green manure crops are the base for organic farming. I have a couple of questions:
1) Are there any who you this method?
2) Is It really useful?
3) Is It economacally economically justified?

2) quite efficient method;
3) hard to value, depends on what results you want to get.
