Goat Meat - Market

Hello Guru's,
I was discussing with one of my friend about the market for goat meat. I understand from him that the market prefers only wether goats(castrated male) less than a year old and the does should be dispossed after 2 deliveries.

I was under assumption that castration is done for weight gaining and as far as the meat is concerned there is no difference between a buck and doe.

Kindly clarify and advice me when to dispose a buck and doe.

Here are the factors you must consider before raising goats.
First you must know the market you're targeting and the date they will buy your goats. That way you can plan whether when you will raise or breed your goats.
The second one is the breed of goat you want to raise.
Are you raising Boer goats or Spanish goats?
And the third one, the climate condition where you will raise your goats.
Climates affect goat's health and ability to reproduce.
When it comes to raising goats for meat you have to consider too about the environment not just the climate condition where you will raise goats.
It includes about the fences or barn you will build for them.
Or is there adequate food and clean fresh water for them anytime?
Are they safe from other predator ?
And they can't protect themselves from other predator.
Also, they are more prone to sickness like pneumonia triggered by the climate one reason why climate consideration is important when raising meat goats.
Male goats are more likely to have kidney stones problem when they lack sufficient water so water is very important.

do not fall for lost of investment in this business is do not immediately start a large herd. Since you're starting, consider raising a number of goats first for experience purposes.

Farmers should maintain the record of breeding goats in order to remove defective females. Normally does can be use for 6 years and then it cans send to slaughter house.
Buck can used in breeding in 1 batch up to 2 years
