Hi everyone

Very glad to inform you we have started a goat farm at shamirpet, hyderabad but the thing is that we are facing a problem with feeding so can anyone please me information about the availability of feed ready made.

i have heard that we can get feed in following prices ready made

Green fodder : 1.5rs/kg
Dry fodder : 4/kg

Can anyone guide me to a place in hyderabad where i can get these fodders.

It was nice talking to you on phone and any way happy week end.

As you have only 1 acre of land and bought the Male Kids from local market of Hyderabad for fattening and sell at the time of EID 2011. This is in fact good idea also just to take initial experience and expand your future project in another land what you are having. In this 1 acre of land you can grow the fodder for 40 -50 Goats through out the year and if there is any open land in the neighbourhood, you can take it on lease and plant fodder. After planting fodder in the new land you can bring more Male Kids to sell for Eid.

You have to grow any of Monocotyledons which comprises of Maize, Jawar, Hybrid Napier, Gunea Grass , Oats and Para grass. These fodders are rich in energy and are used for supplying energy to animals and this should contain 66% of the diet.
Secondly you have to also grow any of the 1 Dicotyledons like Stylo , Lucerne, Berseem and Subabul. These fodders are rich in protein and helps in Body building of animals and Milk Production.

Note: we buy all over seeds from him only.

you have to daily give 3-4 Kg of Green fodder & 1/2 kg of dry fodder.
