Hello,
I want to know what arethe best varity of goats to rear and breed for goat farm in Lucknow village and where from to get them....how big a goat farm can be started in a budget of Rs 4 lakh.pls advice

The best variety of Indian goat breed that can be reared for commercially are osmanabadi,sirohi,jamnapari,sojat,thalacheery and black bengal,but the best among this is osmanabadi goat breed as it provides you high returns in lesser time period.Has high resistant power against diseases,has high palatability of meat,gives multiple kidding(highest kid giving breed of India),eats any farm fodder,easy for marketing etc
The cost of goat farm depends on type of shed that you want to built,type of goat breed that you want to breed.The other expenditures that have to consider are of worker wages,concentrated fodder cost,vaccines,availability of water,land etc.
